Dam Tour 2009
As part of Dam Tour 2009, I visited 20 dams in Oregon, Washington, California, and Montana. Eight dam visits were made during my ride to and from CFR; eleven more were made ruing the ride to and from WFO-8. The last one was a special trip to Yosemite National Park.

- CFR 2009 - Day 4 - Rainbow Falls Dam in Great Falls, MT
- CFR 2009 - Day 8 - Dry Falls Dam near Coulee City, WA, and a near miss on the North Scootenay Dike Dam in south-central WA
- CFR 2009 - Day 9 - McKay Dam south of Pendleton, OR
- CFR 2009 - Day 10 - Toketee Dam and Hyatt Dam in Oregon, and Keswick Dam in Redding, CA
- WFO-8 Day 2 - Thompson Reservoir Dam in south central Oregon
- WFO-8 Day 3 - Rock Creek Dam and Fishhawk Lake Dam in Oregon, and Deschutes Dam in Olympia, WA
- WFO-8 Day 4 - Mud Mountain Dam, Rock Island Dam, Wapato Dam, and a return visit to the North Scootenay Dike Dam
- WFO-8 Day 6 - Upriver Dam and Little Falls Dam in eastern Washington
- WFO-8 Day 8 - Oxbow Dam in Hell's Canyon, and Owyhee Dam in south eastern Oregon
- Yosemite National Park - O’Shaughnessy Dam at Hetch-Hetchy Reservoir

In July and August, 2009, I rode my FJR to Moscow, ID for the WFO-8 rally.
- Day 1 - Home to Red Bluff, CA
- Day 2 - Red Bluff, CA to Redmond, OR, with a stop at the Thompson Reservoir Dam in southcentral Oregon.
- Day 3 - Redmond, OR to Tumwater, WA, with stops at the Rock Creek Dam, the Fishhawk Lake Dam, and the Deschutes Dam.
- Day 4 - Tumwater, WA to Moscow, ID, with stops at the Mud Mountain Dam, the Wapato Dam, the Rock Island Dam, and a second stop at the North Scootenay Dike Dam.
- Day 5 - R&R in Moscow
- Day 6 - Moscow to Spokane, WA and back, with stops at the Little Falls Dam and the Upriver Dam.
- Day 7 - Moscow to Coeur d'Alene for brunch with Carole, Cindy, and Mandy, then to Clarkston, WA via the Spiral Highway.
- Day 8 - Clarkston, WA to Winnemucca, NV through Hells Canyon, with stops at the Oxbow Dam and the Owyhee Dam.
- Day 9 - Winnemucca, NV to home.

CFR 2009
In June, 2009, I rode my FJR to Nakusp, British Columbia for the CFR 2009 Rally.
- Day 1 - home to the Virgin River BLM Campground in northwestern Arizona, with a stop at Cal Poly Pomona for Sheehan's graduation.
- Day 2 - Arizona to Pocatello, ID
- Day 3 - Pocatello, ID to Clancy, MT, with a stop at the Flint Creek Dam west of Anaconda, MT
- Day 4 - Clancy, MT to Waterton Springs, AB, with a stop at the Rainbow Falls Dam in Great Falls, MT
- Day 5 - Waterton Springs, AB to Nakusp, BC
- Day 6 - R&R in Nakusp, BC
- Day 7 - the Vernon Loop - Nakusp to Revelstoke, onto Vernon, and back to Nakusp - with two ferry crossings
- Day 8 - Nakusp to Richland, WA, with stops at the Dry Falls Dam in Coulee City, WA, and the North Scootenay Dike Dam
- Day 9 - Richland, WA to Bend, OR, with a stop at the McKay Dam southeast of Pendleton, OR
- Day 10 - Bend, OR to Red Bluff, CA, with stops at the Toketee Dam northwest of Crater Lake, Hyatt Dam east of Ashland, and the Keswick Dam west of Redding.
- Day 11 - Red Bluff to home.

50th Birthday Ride
For my 50th birthday, I rode my FJR to Banff, AB, spent six wonderful days there with Carole, then rode to the Northwest Territories, the Yukon, Alaska, and back home.
- Day 1 - Home to Ely, NV
- Day 2 - Ely to Stanley, ID
- Day 3 - Stanley, ID to Glacier National Park
- Day 4 - Glacier National Park to Banff, Alberta
- Day 5 - R&R in Banff with Carole
- Day 6 - Radium Hot Springs, and a big moose
- Day 7 - Birthday brunch at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
- Day 8 - Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and Golden, BC
- Day 9 - Banff to Grande Cache, AB
- Day 10 - Grande Cache, AB to Fort Nelson, BC, by way of the Northwest Territories
- Day 11 - Fort Nelson to Dease Lake, BC, by way of Watson Lake, YT and the Cassiar Highway
- Day 12 - Dease Lake to Smithers, BC, by way of Hyder, Alaska
- Day 13 - Smithers to Quesnel, BC
- Day 14 - Quesnel, BC to Tumwater, WA
- Day 15 - Tumwater, WA to Albany, OR, with a new set of tires along the way
- Day 16 - Albany, OR to Williams, CA
- Day 17 - Williams to Home, Sweet Home
